Area Guide – Cathays

History

Established in 1875, Cathays has been home to Cardiff University since 1909 (after relocating from the Newport Road site). Cathays now has a high concentration of students due to the close proximity to the University Buildings and Cardiff University and is also popular with young professionals due to the close to Cardiff City Centre and access to other cities via Cathays Train Station.

Locations

Some of the most popular locations are Woodville Road, Letty Street, Glynrhondda Street, Llanbleddian Gardens, Salisbury Road and Miskin Street – all of these locations are a stone’s throw from Cardiff University and are placed for those who want a very short commute to university or professionals working in the City.

PARKING
Parking is widely available in Cathays and though many of our properties qualify for residential parking permits (visit https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/ENG/resident/Parking-roads-and-travel/Parking-permits) we do also offer free private parking for our tenants where possible. Parking permits have range prices start from £7.50 per annum (this is not a typing error, the price is £7.50 for the first car at your property).
